Summer is well and truly behind us now and the new school year has started. Autumn has blown in quickly this year. The leaves are changing and the weather is definitely getting cooler. I really love everything about this time of year. I can’t wait for windy walks, leaf jumping, trick or treating, bonfire night…the list could go on!
There are so many Autumn and Halloween events in Leicestershire this year, I thought I would share ten of the best. I’ve included the links to each of the events so that you can find all the information you need and to book tickets if needed.
Cattows Farm pick your own pumpkin field – early October to 31st October
This year there are over 10,000 pumpkins waiting to be picked at Cattows Farm. Entry is free, you just pay for your pumpkins (prices vary depending on size). The fields are open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-4pm.

Halloween Afternoon Tea at Cattows Farm – 1st October to 31st October
Head to Cattows Farm during the month of October for a fiendishly good Halloween Afternoon Tea . Enjoy delicious Halloween treats and freaky raspberry lemonade. Booking is essential.
Cattows Farm Firework Display – Saturday 4th November
Cattows Farm will host the UKs only 360 degree fireworks display. Gates open at 2.30pm and the fireworks start at 8pm. There will be live entertainment, food and drinks, stalls and much more.
Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country park Autumn Countryside Hunt – 14th October to 29th October
Go on a marvellous countryside hunt at Bosworth Battlefield. Explore the Heritage Centre and country park to find clues and win a prize! At £1.50 per child this is budget friendly Autumn fun.
Conkers Firework Display – 4th November
Once again Conkers will play host to one of the largest fireworks in the Midlands. Entry is from 5pm with the fireworks starting at 7.30pm. Entry costs £8 per adult and £5 per child.
Conkers Halloween Nights – 4 spookily good Halloween Nights – 28th October to 31st October
Doors open at 6.30pm and close at 10.30pm. All your worst nightmares are set to become reality this Halloween at the Waterside Centre. With ghouls, ghosts, witches and trolls will you make it out alive?!
National Space Centre Spooky Science – 14th October to 29th October
Visit the National Space Centre for some Halloween fun. You can make slime, learn about potions, build rockets and join the School of Science Magic
Twycross Spooky Halloween – 26th October to 31st October
Visit Twycross Zoo for pumpkin carving, a trick or treat trail, spooky cinema, ghoulish arts and craft and much more. There is also discounted entry for those in fancy dress!
Head along to the Great Central Railway on the 31st October. Trains depart at 5.40pm, 6.40pm, 7.40pm and 8.00pm. Meet mini beasts, curious characters, enjoy freaky face paintings, explore the creepy platforms and more. There is a prize for the best fancy dress!
Twinlakes Family Scream Park – timetable to be confirmed
Twinlakes award winning UKs No.1 Halloween day out. There really is so much on during Halloween I couldn’t list it all. Visit their website for all the details! Theres everything from free pumpkins to broomstick flying classes!
