It’s hard to believe that it’s nearly Halloween again. The leaves are beginning to change colour and the days are getting shorter. Autumn is my favourite time of year and Halloween is firmly becoming a holiday we look forward to every year.
I wanted to share with you the 10 Best Halloween Events in Leicestershire as well where you can go to pick your own pumpkins.
Halloween Events in Leicestershire
Conkers – Halloween Family Nights – 29th October, 30th October and 31st October
Enter the haunted woods at Conkers this Halloween. Meet the ghouls, witches and trolls. Take a trip on the runaway train. Dance up a storm at the “Ugly Bugs Disco” and enter the fancy dress competition. Find out more here.
Great Central Railway Steam & Scream – Wednesday 31st October
Dare you ride the dark ghost trains? Who knows what you’ll find and who you’ll meet onboard. There will be a mini fair, meet and greets, face painting and much more on the station platforms.
Trains depart Loughborough at 5.40pm, 6.40pm, 7.40pm and 8.40pm.
Trains depart Rothley at 6.05pm, 7.05pm, 8.05pm and 9.05pm.

Cattows Farm – Halloween Events (various dates)
Cattows Farm is basically winning the Halloween race this year! There are so many events on throughout the season.
Run for fitness, run for charity, run for fun at the 1st Annual Charity 5km Pumpkin Fun Run. Sunday 14th October. Register on the Cattows Farm website.
Enjoy Halloween Afternoon Tea at the farm! Deliciously fiendish treats will be on offer. Tea is served from 3pm – 3.30pm. Monday 1st October to Wednesday 31st October (limited availability). To book call 01530 264 200.

Belvoir Castle School of Witchcraft & Wizardry – 27th to 31st October

Manor Farm and Woodlands Halloween Fun Day – Sunday 28th October
Explore the spooky trail, watch the pigs bob for apples, carve pumpkins, join the Halloween hunt, visit the craft room for something spooky to take home. Book your tickets here. There’s a free pumpkin for every child.
National Space Centre Family Halloween Party – Saturday 27th October 6-10pm
Fly, slither and crawl to the National Space Centre for out of this world Halloween events. Live alien encounters, silent disco, slime making, costume competition and much more. Book your ultimate ex -FEAR-ience on the website.
Twinlakes Family Theme Park – Halloween Events – 13th October to 4th November

Twycross Zoo – Boo at the Zoo – 20th, 21st, 27th October and 4th November
The witches are back at Twycross Zoo this Halloween. There will be meet and greets, spell casting, photo ops, pumpkins carving and much more. Book your tickets here.
Bosworth Battlefield Halloween Hunt – Saturday 13th October to Sunday 4th November
At just £2 per child this is a great event for the whole family. Collect a sheet from the ticket office, explore the Heritage Centre and country park to find the ghoulish residents. Return the completed form and earn reward! Find out more on the website.
Rockingham Castle Halloween Fun – 16th, 17th, 23rd and 25th October

Cattows Farm – fields open from the 1st October
At the moment there is only one pick your own pumpkin farm (well that I can find advertised!) in Leicestershire but fear not they have over 40,000 pumpkins in the fields this year. All different shapes, sizes and varieties. Visit the website for all the information you’ll need.
We had a great time last year wandering the beautiful fields choosing just the right one (or three)!
