We are a family of car lovers! Mr B designs them for a living so you could say we eat and breathe automobiles in our house. Last week we were lucky enough to attend Ashby DLZ’s (de la Zouch….that is way too much to type every time) first annual Festival of Transport. This is the sister festival of the Swadlincote Festival of Transport which is in its fifth successful year. Held in Ashby for the first time we couldn’t resist the opportunity to check out what was on offer.
This is a free festival (please note that entry is free however entertainment such as rides and food are not included) and celebrates all things vehicular – everything from vintage and classic cars to big rig trucks! The main street in Ashby was closed for the event and lining the streets were amazing cars, trucks, fairground rides and food stalls as well as live entertainment. There was even the local remote control bangers club putting on an impressive display of wreckage and mayhem. Something Mr B and L were completely obsessed with, I can see miniature bangers in my future.
We spent a good couple of hours exploring, taking pics and ogling some envy inducing cars.
Our verdict of Ashby’s first Festival of Transport is a definite thumbs up and we hope it returns for a second year in 2018!
